Mechanical and electrical engineering services for the design and construction phase of a one story new public safety facility with an area of 11,500 square feet. The building included a sally port, receiving and booking areas, case preparation, holding cells, commissioner's offices and other administrative areas. Generally, the building mechanical and electrical systems included the following:
- The HVAC system consisted of three gas fired roof top units. The three roof top units were zoned based on the occupancy requirements. Due to the high percentage of outside air requirements, the holding cells and the bull pen areas were served by a custom roof top unit. The remainder of the secured area was served by the second roof top unit and the commissioner's office and administrative areas were served by the third roof top unit.
- Smoke evacuation system based on code requirements.
- Heating and ventilation for the sally port area. Carbon monoxide sensor controls the roof mounted exhaust fan and the motor operated dampers on the outside air intake louvers.
- The telecommunication and server room was served by a ductless split air conditioning unit.
- Security plumbing fixtures in the cell areas and standard plumbing fixtures in the non secure areas.
- Sprinkler and fire alarm system for the building.
- Security type and communication system for the building and connection to the existing central control center located in the main detention facility.
- Interior and exterior lighting for the building and parking area.
- Power for the mechanical equipment, security, communication system, etc.
- Meetings and coordination with the Fire Marshall, county authorities and other reviewing agencies.
