Performed a survey of the existing mechanical and electrical systems. Provided construction documents, cost estimate and construction phase services for modifications to the existing MEP system serving the existing community center.
The following is a summary of services provided for the community center:
- Field visit and survey of the existing mechanical & electrical systems.
- Replacement of the existing gas fired roof top air conditioning units serving the gymnasium area.
- Provided a new gas fired rooftop air conditioning unit with related air distribution system serving the fitness room with high active occupancy level.
- Replacement of the HVAC system serving the remainder of the building consisting of classrooms, kitchen, administration and lobby areas. Existing gas fired split air conditioning units were replaced with packaged gas fired roof top units.
- The plumbing work consisted of the renovations of two bathrooms, shower rooms and addition of janitor & kitchen sinks as well as replacement of the existing plumbing fixtures and related sanitary, vent and domestic cold & hot water piping.
- The size of the existing main gas service to the building was studied in order to determine its adequacy for accommodating the new demand for the new gas fired units. Coordination with the gas company was performed.
- Design of new interior lighting for the gymnasium and fitness room, bathrooms and lobby.
- Design of new exterior lighting serving the entry roadway and existing parking lot.
- Provided a new fire alarm system for the entire building.
- Determined adequacy of spare electrical power to serve the new HVAC equipment loads.
- Bidding and construction phase services were performed.
