Performed a survey of the existing MEP & Structural systems. Provided construction documents, cost estimate and construction phase services for modifications to the MEP system serving the community center. Structural design of support system for addition of roof top units.
The following is a summary of services provided for the community center:
- Surveyed the mechanical & electrical systems of the existing community center including the gymnasium, fitness room, offices, bathrooms, and various other multi-purpose rooms.
- The existing gas fired roof top air conditioning units serving the gymnasium area were replaced with a new roof top unit.
- Provided a new air distribution system serving the fitness room with high active occupancy level. A new gas fired rooftop air conditioning was added to serve the fitness room.
- The HVAC system serving the various other areas of the building including classrooms, kitchen, administration and lobby areas were replaced. Existing gas fired split air conditioning units were replaced with packaged gas fired roof top units.
- Provided plumbing drawings for renovations of two bathrooms and shower rooms. The existing plumbing fixtures and related sanitary, vent, domestic cold and hot water piping were replaced.
- The size of the existing main gas service was studied in order to determine its adequacy for serving the demand for the new gas fired units. Coordinated with the local gas company.
- Design of new interior lighting for multi-purpose rooms, meeting rooms, lounge, offices bathrooms and various other areas.
- Design of new exterior lighting serving the entry roadway and existing parking lot.
- Provided a new fire alarm system for the entire building.
- Determined adequacy of spare electrical power to serve the new HVAC equipment loads and provided a new electrical panel.
- Bidding and construction phase services were performed.
